I have a '94 D1 with the V8 and 90k miles. I started having rough idle problems a while back with an occassional stall. So far, I cleaned and then replaced the IAC valve. No help. Later, I was getting a 'slow lamda response' (code 44?), so I decided to replace both 02 sensors and at the same time did a new cap, rotor, plugs, wires and air filter. I found the distributor vac advance leaking by and had it repaired and had to do a distributor rebuild because I broke some of the little plastic bits inside. (BTW, be careful pulling up on the rotor when replacing...) During repairs the water pump started leaking and got replaced and another clue (or not), the passenger side cat started rattling. One last variable, I had to replace the alternator when it siezed on a road trip. Not sure about any potential electrical damage. I've inspected the vacuum lines for any obvious leaks and the engine seems to run fine at a higher RPM, so I don't think it's fuel starved. I'm losing credibility with the wife and need to get this thing fixed. Any ideas out there? Also, has anyone swapped in the Catco's? Thanks in advance for the help, Blake |

The valley cover/inlet manifold gasket can leak - any oil seeping down the front or rear of block? Check the vacuum lead from rear of inlet to fuel pressure regulator for good. check the charcoal cannister purge line to manifold for good. check brake booster for holding vacuum. jp |
