I have problems with 2nd gear on my 94 Disco (Manual transmission). I have problems selecting 2nd gear (crunching) and it also jumps out of 2nd. The local LR dealer wants to replace the transmission unit for $4000 ($6000 to do clutch etc). Does anyone know of any good transmission shops in the Denver area that may be more reasonable and trusted to work on Rovers? |

I had a nissan manual that had the same symptoms with 5th gear. My mechanic said it was that the gear teeth were worn, requiring a transmission replacement. Three times. Damn nissan. |

You can fix it no problem , the problem is that many mechanics just dont know how. Its easier money for them just to R&R. The same goes for stealerships... Kyle |
