I have a 97 D1 and when the axle drops the driveshaft rubs the swaybar. I did have the swaybar off for a while but the body roll is extreme now. So I need the swaybar but with disconnects. Have any of you lowered the swaybar?

You have to fabricate new mounts (or spacers) for the front sway bar (where it mounts to your frame). This is the only way that I know of to keep the front driveshaft from connecting with the anti-sway bar. You can't lengthen the sway bar to make it work. I think I recall reading about a guy (adofab?) that made a set once.

Thanks,
Mike B.

Would bronze collars work as a way to lower the swaybar? Is bronze stong enough?
