I'm posting this for a friend who is looking for some guidance. He has a 97 Disco that has the following symptoms: -Missing at idle and at speed like it isn't getting spark -Check Engine light is on Test Conditions -It is actually getting spark on all cylinders at idle -All spark plugs replaced and wires checked First Guess Could this be injector problems? Has anyone had similar symptoms? Thanks in advance for the help. Dave |

Check the OBD codes. Could be carbon build up on the valves. Not sure on the 1997 but could be the coil pack too. |

I've checked the spark, seems to be fine. the plug on one cylinder appears to be very black as though it is getting way too much fuel. rom reading other post, it appears that this could point to a problem of rust in the fuel rail, where a partical gets into the injector holding it open. can anyone confirm having this issue where replacing the injector (injectors) fixed the problem ? (Dave posted for me, as I am traveling and the Disco has been left until my return). Thanks, John |
