Hi... I have bought a used '01 Discovery Td5 and I have found a (the first?) small problem. The car is equipped with front-window-heating and the usual rear-window-heating, there are two button on the dashboard. According to the user-manual it should be possible to use one for front, one for rear... So far, easy, but... No matter which button I use, both control-lights light and (so I guess) both windows will be heated. Switching off manually, same effect, one button (no matter which), both lights are off. Automatic (time-controlled according to manual) everything seems fine, front stops first, rear later. What's wrong? Thanks, Chris |

Boy that's a good one. I would bring it to a dealer to check out. Sounds like a wire is crossed somewhere. |

Chris, Whatever the issue is, it is a warranty issue. LRNA picks up the bill! Good luck...Dave |

Dave, I don't think LRNA will be picking up the bill on a Td5. Or is there something I didn't know about LRNA importing Diesels to North America? |

Hi... Guess so too, the car is out of Berlin, Germany... Would be hard to carry to a LRNA-dealer! ;-) But they should import the Td5, great mileage compared to the V8, or as a german dealer said: It's impossible to sell the V8 here, haven't had one for years. Chris |

Chris, Sometimes both will light up depending on what setting you have the cabin system on. I've noticed that no matter what, whenever I hit the defrost button, both the front and rear windscreen buttons light up. IS this similar to you problem? |

Hi Dave, that's the same at mine. But... If I simply press the front or rear-button alone (w/o defrost), well, same thing. One button in, both on. :-( Chris |
