I have a 2000 D2 thats got 31K. The ride is terrible, it feels like I have no shocks at all. The truck is completely stock, just the front LR brush guard with Hella 4000s. My question is, are Land Rovers supposed to get there shocks changed every 31K? What the hell? My old truck I use to change every 80K.
Are ARB nitro shocks good shocks for a stock LR?

Most all shocks should be replaced about every 30k miles. And yes the OME (ala ARB) shocks are great for a stock Disco II and it will feel like a new vehicle unless you have SLS in the rear then you may want to limit downward travel or add some spacers even if you don't change the ride height.

I do have the SLS in the rear. Can you please explain more to me about this spacer and downward travel thing? Thanks

The OME rear shock will allow the axle to drop more than the stock shock that is installed in SLS vehicles. This extra travel is a good thing but with the SLS, the air bag is streched to its limits and this could cause the air bags to tear. Rovertym makes a SLS spacer kit that will lift your vehicle up 2" if you install the entire kit. However if you just install the spacers that mount under the airsprings you can prevent the bag from tearing and still get the extra travel and better ride of the OME shock and keep the stock ride height.
