So I've read through all the previous posts on replacing the t-case front output shaft bearing to reduce driveline vibes after a lift. I am currently suffering from this after a 3" RTE lift with all the parts. I saw the posts stating you need the standard 6207 bearing with no suffix. I went looking for this part at several local auto parts stores and was told several times that the suffix only indicates different seals, snap rings, etc., but all the bearing dimensions were the same. I also checked several sources on-line which also stated the same dimensions for all suffixes. I then emailed Timken tech support and here is the response I got back: Mr. Swanson, The 207 bearing we offer in our line of bearings has a tolerance that is deemed appropriate for your application. You may want to investigate other causes such as dented or bent components, if you desire, our 207FF bearing has a tighter tolerance but if you purchased a 207 it should perform. Rod Hodge Sr Product Analyst The Timken Corporation Anyway I appreciate all the help on this board (I've read for quite a while but haven't had tons of time to contribute). I thought this information could be useful. I have not tried this 6207FF bearing yet, but plan to soon. I'll let you know how it turns out. Jeff |
