I have a 94 Discovery with 120,000 miles on it. I can't it to go into low range. I put it netural and the shifter will not go foward. I can go left to lock, but not foward. Any suggestions?

Is this a new (used) car? If the linkage hasn't been used in a while it may be frozen. You may need to get under and free it up. Also make sure you're slowly rolling when you try to go into low gear.

If you are doing this while sitting still try putting in netural and shifting while still rolling slowly.

After trying, press the brakes and shift to drive then back to neutral and try it. Otherwise it sounds like linkage is is stiff and needs cleaned and lubed. Time consuming but easy.

I will get up under and give the linkage a good cleaning and some lubrication. Thanks
