Ive got a 96 discoI and after it has been sitting for a few hours or overnight, I start it no problem, back out of my driveway no problem, start going forward while excellerating and I realize the engine is cold but for the first quarter mile it sounds as if its reving real hard and then it seems to finish winding up and eases off and runs fine. Is this normal? Thanks Eric |

They do sound like that....I wish they sounded like that all the time, I like that high rev noise that occurs in the beginning. |

Some time ago a new Disco owner came complaining to this BB (or an email list) about how the techs at the dealer blew him off and wouldn't address his Disco's problem of over revving and no power when first starting off. I felt bad for the guy because apparently the techs just laughed at him |

Viscous coupling for the fan? Sounds like it...Don't know if your's is good or bad, but that's most likely what you're hearing. Jason T. |

Its the fan. So loud that you can't even hear the V8 . Then it cuts out and only comes on again when its hot enough. Bruce. |
