I have a bone stock 99 D1 with the OEM tires. What should the pressure be? Should it be the 26 front, 36 rear? The fronts are at around 30 and the side walls look like they are sagging, like there is not enough pressure in them.

Also, what should I lower then to for sand and off roading?

Thanks again,

Zak

28 - 38 if my memory serves me well.
Do not lower less that 16 psi on 7" Aluminum rims and the stock tires that have weakish sidewalls.
Correct me if I am wrong guys...

Check the inside edge of the driver's door Zak. I think Nadim's got it about right. Also observe sidewall specs on the tire. Sometimes you just have to play with tire pressures to find what works best.

not sure where I found this, yet, it might help:
"you could put a chalk line across the tread and drive straight for a few
revolutions of the tire. the chalk should were evenly with the correct
pressure. more chalk worn in the center means too much air. chalk worn
near the shoulders mean too little air."

If you're on sand I would think you could go less than 16psi even with weak sidewalls. Just be sure to air up after.

I always carry a can of methanol (carb cleaner). If my tire pops a bead, I spray some in, put the Oakley, a cap, light up a tissue on a 3 foot stick and light it up. Works everytime...3$ can + ARB compressor (or foot pump and some candy)...that's all u need!
Jaime, that is a true observation, just make sure not to drive ona ny patch of water (LOL)
Enjoy
