Hi, I'm new to your site -hope you can help, got a 97 disco with a 4.0L,5 speed trans. and 59000 miles and it runs real bad,I pulled the codes and tells me that5 out of 8 cyls are miss firing and it seems to have a"flat"spot when you press the accelerator for a brief second then seems to accel normally, I replaced the plug wires, coilpacks(used),plugs, all 4 ox sensors and gas filter and still doesn't accel smoothly, also have a problem now with the transmission as I have a wicked vibration at 60 mph with a steady load and when you take your foot off the accelerator the noise disappears and returns when you depress the throttle this seems to have happened after the last mechanic had the car and when I picked it up after he unsuccessfully "repaired" it I noticed the diff lock was engaged so I returned it to the normal position and the vibes and what seems like an extreme load is on the drivetrain plus grumbling noises- I know this seems like a lot but I really need your help- thanks in advance-Tony |
