I noticed the other day that when I accelerate from stop to about 35 or so that there is a rapid ticking sound coming from what appears to be the drivers side of the engine, ie. it sounds like it's right in front of me when I drive. Anyways, I though it was just when the A/C was on that this happens but it does it all the time. It doesn't seem like it does it once my speed is over 45 or so and I am not accelerating. I don't know if it's when I get into a higher gear or just not accelerating. Anyways... Any suggestions on what I may be able to do to troubleshoot or correct this (potiential) problem. Thanks in advance. Greg |

Hey Greg, You have an exhaust leak. Its pretty common, and you will more than likely find that the leak is coming from the exhaust manifold to down pipe joint. There is a TSB from Land Rover to use different studs/nuts and gasket to make the repair, but even these are not full proof. ~Scott T. 95 D-90 (JEEPETR) 96 Discovery (5-Speed) |
