'95 D1 seems like it doesn't downshift on it's own at the right times. I live in SF, up in the hills, and it seems to me it should be dropping down in gear more than it does. is this common? is there an adjustment for it? |

I'm in Colorado Springs and my 95 D1 gives me the same impression. I've read on this board about how to adjust the manual kick-down cable to cause it to drop gears without mashing the sh#t out of the pedal. I haven't done it, but intend to next time I've got my hands dirty. Seems there is a cable attached to the gas pedal that pulls something on the transmission to make it drop a gear. I figure any cable stretches over time/usage so a minor adjustment on my 80K D1 makes sense. Mike g. |
