if you take off the the driver side grab handle near the roof, then get those "mag-lite" mounts, the little things that the mag clicks into, and mount them to holes left from the grab-handle. they will fit without further modification, and they are spaced perfectly apart for the light to mount into. then youll have your mag right next to your head mounted to the side of the roof. its perfect spot in case some hoodlums try to jack you out of the disco, you can grab it, clonk em, and moto the hell out of there.. |

Jess: I put one on the left side/drivers seat frame cover and one near the alpine window on the drivers' side. Convenient no matter where you are...

I put mine on the rear door, right next to where the door lock thingie is. It fits just right, and looks cool which is very important!

I have mine mounted on the back of the center console. The clips are on either side of the ash-tray. (96 D1) This obviously disables the ash-tray unless you remove the flashlight, if you have smoking passengers. I just took the screws out and removed that black plastic shielding, screwed the clips in and reinforced the back with a couple 1x1 inch plate steel squares. It works quite nicely. I just used some velco and attached the maglite 2A belt clip to the top of the dash, and keep it there. Very nice and handy combination. |

I put mine in the rear door pocket. No drilling required, and nothing thats going to become a high velocity decapitating missle if I get into an accident. |

How do you have so much room there. My DII doesn't have enough room to mount a light there.
I have mine mounted on top of the rear door, just inside the window. looking at open door I have 3-D cell light on left and fire extinguisher on right attached to the metal ledge just above the trim and below the window. |

That's on a 95 D1. The door pocket comes within about 1/4" of the flashlight. I can actually pull the light straight forward out of the clips with the door closed, but I have to open the door to get it back into the clips.
It's been real handy a couple of times, and for the $2 or whatever the clips cost, it's been one of the best bang-for-the-buck mods I've done. Right up there with my littel whip antenna. |

On my '96 I just slip the light under the seat between the console and the seat rail. It stays there well, and is inconspicuous and handy. Also no need to drill.

Tomo's example is nice but that is where I put my fire extinguisher. I ended up mounting my Mag in the cargo area next to the right rear window. |

I have one of the small pin mags. If fits in that handy space above the visor. Slides in back first and lodges perfectly facing out. Just about the only thing that fits in there!

I have 2 maglights in my Disco:
A 2 D-Cell that is placed under the steering wheel horizontally (no, it does not hit my leags and I'm 6'2").
A 6 D-Cell placed between the C and D pillar on the side-wall of the pull out seats.
These are two good places. |
