I just purchased a 97 Discovery with 89K miles on it. While running my A/C the fan suddenly shut off then after 3-4 seconds resumed normal operation. Is this normal, as one may expect with a thermostatically controlled system or do I have a problem?

I don't consider it normal (it happens to me as well), but the folks on this board say not to worry. If you check the archives you'll see endless post on the subject.

Just wiggle the fan switch a little. Mine does it on setting #4.
