got a 96 disco with 4.0L and 5 speed and it has multiple missfires, the codes say #4and#8 are missfiring, and can't seem to find the prob.,replaced plugs,wires,cleaned and checked MAF,tps,step motorand it seems to be in the coils due to it only seems to miss under load,runs good otherwise, any way to test the coils any help would be great!!! |

your exhaust valves are probally sticking causing misfire codes.you can remove a valve cover and remove a exhaust valve spring and manually push the valve up and down to see if they are binding.(make sure the piston on that cylinder is all the way up).this is a very common problem even with the new style valves. |
