Anyone run their fibreglass antenna on the upper tabs of the ARB bumper? I'm hoping to mount my 4' Firestik II here instead of on the back of the vehicle. I'm not going to have the antenna on but for when I'm out playing around or on long trips - so the look of the thing out there in front isn't a big deal to me. I've seen those big-ass syringey-looking antennas on some front bumpers before, but does everyone here think it'll just get ripped off by the flora and other obstacles? How will the powdercoated surface act as a ground plane? Some pictures of the tentative install:
Thanks for your opinions! |

That works fine. It actually is a better location than on the back near the spare tire. As for flora you should be okay with the spring. |

you can also purchase an ARB antenna mount for the ARB bumper. Atlantic British, and others sell this part....it looks like the welded tab as in the pictures above, though it bolts in place with a clamp, thus it can be installed anywhere on the main bar. |

I did the same thing on mine - except ditched the spring - even the heavy spring was way to "wavy". Works fine without. I also used the Firestik HD quick disconnect. Receive/Xmit is great. Bill |

I used the ARB mount on the OEM brush bar and used a quick disconnect for the antenna. It works great. I don't use a spring and have never had trouble. Jeff |
