Does anyone know as to why I cant open my trunk? The handle feels like it is stuck in the "open" position but no matter how hard I pull or push (the latter from the inside...of course) it won't budge..

I tried to spray some WD-40 into the opening mechanism from the outside...still doesnt move.

Any ideas?

I don't have a hatch or trunk on my Disco but if the rear door is stuck and the outside and inside handle won't work you may need to undo the inside trim to get at the mechanism.

did you remove the green oval with the land rover logo and spray in there or did you just spray up into the handle??? If you didn't try that.

From one of my previous posts:

This is probably just a sticky mechanism. This sometimes happens if the door isn't used often. I think the grease that land rover uses gums up. It also can happen if the door is open and you lock it and then close it. Usually all it takes to fix is get a screw driver or knife or anything flat and push it up underneath the silver part of the outside door handle, the part that you pull on and move when you go to open it. Just pry this part back out, towards the front of the vehicle. Grab the handle with one hand and push it back in and then wedge it back out a few times to loosen it up, then hit it with some WD40.
I know on my 98 LSE during the winter it never sticks because I am opening it almost everyday to lug my hockey equipment around, but now that it is summer I don't use it as much and it sticks, same thing happened last year.

Thanks Guys...

All I had to do was pry the oval open and reposition the handle from the inside...

exceedingly simple fix..
