I've recently ordered two xenon bulbs to replace those in my disco to give me more light. They were touted at "30% brighter", and are 55/60w I believe (same as the normal ones).

I've come to swap them out, and they "look" the sames as those already fitted, in that they both have the grey "paint" on the end of the bulb, and say almost the same on the outer metal rim.

Is there an easy way to tell xennon bulbs, or do I need to wait until its dark, and see if I can measure "30%" myself.

Any help appreciated.

Horness

the color of the llight should be white, you cannot miss the difference between a normal bulb and a xenon. I also installed them on my truck but later took them off. You also can get xenon for your fog lights

My xenon bulbs where blue in color but basiclly the same buld otherwise. I do like them, they make whiter/blue light and lights up the road alot better than stock. There is alot out to choose from so you have to be carefull you don't get ripped off. All the xenons I have seen for cars or trucks have been blue in color on the glass.
Hope this helps.

Hmm, me thinks I've been stuffed like a thanks giving turkey.

I'll check out the lights tonight, see if the "appear" any different. From what I saw, they looked the same, although I did not take much notice of them as I was fitting them under a time limit (lunch break).

Thanks
Horness

One thing you might do is put only one in, ya know like the right side only. Then comparethem;that's what I did and if they are xenon you can tell the dif!

James - why did you take them off? My cousin actually got a ticket because his lights were too bright. Don't know if that will be an issue for anyone on here. Just thought I'd pass it on.
