I just bought the factory A-Bar winch mount set-up thinger...I was wondering what winches will bolt onto it. I'd like to take a look at all my options as far as Warn, Ramsey, Stupidwinch, Husky... etc. Any thoughts? Im not talking winch size though... so lets not get violent, just 8k-9k lbs range.

They all have the same bolt pattern

8274 and M12000 mount face forward. husky and ramsey RE don't mount like the little guys

A 9 wont fit right on from what I have seen. Its designed for the little 8s to go on it. The pattern is all the same but the motor hits the left side of the mount. The Warns might be smaller there and squeak by but I am not sure..

Thats cool, I was probably just going for the M8000 anyways. Any objections? Hey Kyle, do you have that tracking #? Thanks a lot.

Just looking at prices... what is the difference between the M8000 and then x8000i? The later being more expensive, what is the advantage of the x8000i? Thanks a lot.

Clif,
Any Warn with the the "i" insignia means that the soleniod pack is "intergrated" (not injection for BMW fans)...

It is said that intergrated solenoids hold better against the elements. I have no Idea. But I have seen a lot of non-i Warns hold good. Plus non-i winches are easier to maintain.

It is a matter of choice, I'd go for the non-i. The 8274-50 that I will be bolting on shortly has a non-i type of pack.

Ron,

How do the Husky and the RE mount? Not like the little guys? Is a Warn 9500i a little guy? I'm looking at potential replacements and all these mounting differences have got my head spinning.

Yes the 9500 would be another little guy.... lol The Husky mounts with 4 bouts in the front and four bolts in its feet (In the bottom) and teh RE mounts with 4 acrost the front and four acrost the rear...

Kyle,

What about the Warn M12? I see pictures of that and can't figure out how the heck it mounts.

Warn M12K mounts face forward - 4 bolts that hold it to the inside face of a bumper (like ARB) - also has two mounting holes on top and two on the bottom.

Okay, so the mount I bought from you Kyle, will only accept winches that only bolt on the bottom? Is that correct?

Well , no , not really. All the warns can be flipped with the feet facing down. Its the size of the mount itself tht the limiting factor. Once ya get the mount you can take measurements off of it and then go to the winch pages and get their dimms. Then ya know what fits and what dont..

Alrighty. Thanks. Another question... Clemson Four Wheel drive being the best Warn prices, what is the comprable source in a Ramsey?
