i am about to remove passenger seat. this will include removing the amp for the old car radio system that was in the truck. the old system is gone and i am not using any of the old wiring from the old unit. to get to the point is there wires other than those for the old radio that somehow may have been placed thru this amp, ie alarm, rocket launcher, self-destruct ets, that i should be aware of before yanking it out. i know that its a lame ass question but when Lucas rides along with you everywhere you go sometimes its better to ask before than after.
thanks in advance,
mike w

If it is a Disco Series One you are referring to, you will find the diagnostic display for the vehicle management system down there. The reset for the emissions reminder is down there also.

Removal of the amplifier will be easy for you as it only has two wiring harnesses going into and out of it. I'm not sure that I would want to do much of anything with the other wiring down there.

thanks paul,
it is a D1 (94) and i was aware of the emission and obd1 module, they are ok for now but the amp has to go. i had someone once tell me that equipment other than the radio were fed thru the amp. sounded like BS to me but as i said i wanted to be careful. so i am off to remove the amp, if anyone sees a large mushroom cloud in central ohio it was me!

that's only for a 94 and 95 Paul. 96+ do not have the screen and the emissions reminder is in the passenger kick panel. *should* be just amp wires there, but i have definitely not btdt.

I cut all the wires to the amp on my 95 Disco when I replaced my stereo (still an unsuccessfull job). It didn't affect anything else.
I did adjust my Kanutor Valve 10 deg and it is much faster now. :)

Watson:
The amplifier has two connectors on it. They are only related to the amplifier. Go ahead and remove it.

Funny, the Defender I was into Tuesday night had two connectors on it, and the one in my '95 has a guzinta and a goesouta.

Thanx for keeping the world safe.

Howboucha Apexdisco!
"What do you mean by Kanutor Valve, and what was faster?" It's a joke, fits it the "Powerband" category.
