How do I disconnect the rear lights if I replace my rear bumper with one that has no lights in them. Simply cut the wiring? Any advice before I start ripping stuff out! |

You should be able to just unplug the rear bumper lights and tuck the wiring harness up and out of the way (maybe zip tie it somewhere) without worrying about it. If you're really concerned, you could electric tape the connector to keep the elements out. |

That would have been easy enough, but! If I disconnect it, I get fast flashing indicators as the system thinks you blew a light. |

You would get that if you cut the wires, too. Short the plug with a resistor with the same resistance of the bulb, then tape it up and you will be fine. Or, change the flasher relay to one from a model year that didn't have lights in the bumper. |

Thats no always true, I had a 97 that had blown turn signals and parking lights that never indicated that they were blown. |

I just cut mine off and got no flashing indicator. I cut out the blank recepticle in the rear column light assembly and ordered 2 new bulb-holders and they popped right in. Works great - the only wierd thing I noticed is when I signal to turn, my imstrument panel trailer indicator blinks along with the turn indicator. |
