got a 97 disco and I'm not sure if I need a valve job,been hearing and seeing alot of this on your site and I think I might be a candidate,so how would I know if a valve job is needed, got about 52k on the clock and seems to missfire about 2200-2500 rpms and the check engine light is on AGAIN!!any suggestions? |

there's extensive info on cleaners and such in the thread i started. try one of those remedies first. have you had you're computer read to know what the problem is for sure? |

If its like the engine stalls then catches on again, it could be a faulty Air Flow Meter. I had my 97 Disco 1 week then this showed up. Bastard dealer knew it had the problem.

had the codes pulled,can't remember exact #'s but had multiple missfires on 2 or 3 cylinders and that was before AND after a complete tuneup,all filters,gas,air and new plugs,wires and compression and leakage tests on cylinders also the stepper motor was pulled and cleaned,seems to have this "flat" spot under a load at about 2200-2500rpms |
