I noticed that the Kalahari's have a Saudi/Gulf States grill on them. Thought it would look good on my DII so I inquired at my local dealer as to what the cost for one was. I was informed that the grill is $530!!!!! It's a piece of plastic with a wire mesh insert. What gives? I know that the Saudi grill for the DI can be gotten for $50 or so. Anyone know of a cheaper source for the DII?

Well, my dealer quoted $495. That would be $35.00 cheaper... :)

Damn, that is out of control. Unless of course they give you a camel at time of purchase.

There was a thread a week or so ago on this topic. Someone posted http://www.northeastbritishparts.com as a place to get them and they do list a D1 grill for only $60 but there's nothing on the web page for the D2.

Try contacting a dealer in Saudi. It's worth a try.

To confirm what Al said,
I asked North East British some time ago and this was their answer;

"good morning neil

thankyou for your enquiry at northeast british parts.the saudi grill only fits the discovery 1 models as far as we know,never been able to get our hands on a discovery 2 to try one,

So may be it fits, may be it doesnt...
Does anyone want ot give it a try???

Well, they are about 400 miles away from me. Not going to blindly order one, but maybe if they are at Killington with a display set up................. Hint, Hint, to anyone from the store.................... Us DII drivers can check it out.

Roversland (roversland.com) in Miami has a pile of the D1 gulf grill. They're asking $25 but have had trouble selling them and were willing to give me one with my last purchase.
