After battling an alternator problem that killed my battery I had 3 mos of easy living in my 95 Disco. Suddenly the battery died and had to be boosted a few times. Whild driving the left blinker flashed as if a bulb was out. Got home and problem quit- blinker rate normal and no bulbs out. Battery now holds charge again. My cell phone charger was plugged in but I thought that circuit was switched off with ignition. Anybody battle this demon before? |

I have encountered the blinker problem. Flashes rapidy, as if bulb is out, then depending on the phase of the moon, returns to normal for extended periods. Pop the hood and remove the turn signal. There is a contact on the bottom of the bulb, and the side. I tried new bulb, but the problem was the same. Further investigation revealed that the side contact seemed to be pushed aside and had little pressure on the side of the bulb mount. So I would hit a good bump and have a good turn signal for a week, then hit a bump and have the rapid blink for a week. A little twist of the pocket-knife did the trick. I imagine the dealer would have simply replaced the entire turn signal assembly. |

BV: Thanks for the heads up on the socket. I'm 100 miles from the nearest dealer so it's sorta between me and Lucas. The discoweb really helps. Been a week and no change. IHMB (I'll hold my breathe) Joe |
