Is there any way to check if the stepper motor is working properly, what do you look for when it is taken off the engine? |

AFAIK, it controls the idle under different engine loads. So if you switch on the A/C the rpm´s will drop a little. The stepper motor opens a little then letting additional air into the plenum chamber thus rasing the idle again. So clues for its operation can be had in situ, no ? Cleaning it should be sufficient then. At least the Workshop manual I looked into gives no bench-test procedure. |
