I just had something similar. Give the "motors" time to cool down, maybe a couple of hours or so, then try. |

If this is a D2 (I don't know if the D1 is the same) try and look for the long screw rod under the seat. My D2 used to get stuck all the way aft and if I just applied a little pressure (not much needed) to the screw while trying to move the seat forward with the controls it would finally move. I never did anything to fix it but it hasn't happend again in over a year. |

Sounds to me.....what is happening JUST happened to me. The contacts in the seat switch are infamous for getting dirty. You can just unsnap the switch and unplug it so it is completely removed from the console and: spray the HELL out of it inside with contact cleaner and shake it like a martini for a while, hoping to clean off some of the crap that is caking onto the contacts. Let it dry and see if you fixed it. OR, take apart the switch (it unclips after you remove the foil sticker) and manually clean the contacts. CAUTION!!!! There are a million ball bearings and itty bitty springs that make this a TRUE pain in the ass. This was the option I took and was not aware of the millions of parts, which wound up sprung and lost all over my Rover. Ultimately, I wound up purchasing a new seat switch from DEE. Fixed the problem. I tell ya, SOMETIMES just spending the cash, eliminating headache is SOOOOO worth the extra dough. |
