I just finished installing a Garmin 176C, and for power, I disconnected my "Home Link" wiring and connected it to the Garmin Hard wiring. Anyone think of any reason I shouldn't be doing this? The homelink is only powered when the car is running, which is what I wanted. The garmin unit doesn't pull much power, as it's fused at 1.5amps. I dont' use the homelink and don't forsee a need for it any time soon. I suspended the garmin from the center overhead console just in front of the sunroof switches.............

So, is this okay for power? Couldn't figure out which circuit the home link was on, but it didn't seem worth running new wires when these were there.

Thanks for the help.
