I know i have seen this posted a while back, but cannot find any reference to it. I have a 97 XD and I get the typical brake squeal when i brake or turn right. Dealer has not indicated the pads need to be changed as of last service (2K miles ago).
Any feedback on this topic would be greatly appreciated. |

I need a pad change as well. I've heard turn the rotors and not to turn. What to do? What's the truth?

Regarding the squeal, I had a loud squeal coming from my rear brakes when I was moving slowly and off the brakes. Try removing all your pads and spraying some Permetex Disc Brake Quiet on the back of each one and see how it goes. So far there has been no noise since I have used it. It comes in a blue can and is a spray on and then let it set up for about 10-20 minutes and then reinstall the pads.

Dont turn the rotors. They should last you about 80k - 100k miles. And when they need to be replaced, replace them with new rotors. |
