Trying to hook up a harness to my D II I called the dealer to inquire about the kit, National backorder could be 6 + months, He told me go to u-haul Well I figured if those idiots can wire it I sure could. Well 5 hours later and still no go I need some kind of switcher block that tells the circut to overide the brake lite while turning, Since my trailer has 4 wires Ground, marker lights, left signal/left brake, right signal/right brake. I have all the correct wires off of the harness but the brake lights still over ride the signals. I'm sure somone has done this please email me I need to pull a trailer this weekend. Mark,
Look under tech "Rear Light Wires" by Greg Davis this should be what you need.
Good luck,
Brian

Thanks guys just finshed up I went the Napa part route, the parts guy argued with me. He said no way will that work on one of those land rovers your going to have to go to the dealer. And no returns on electrical parts.

Thanks again it works perfect.

The part you need is called a "module light" . This is essential , as if a short occurs in your trailer, you could fry your brain with the extra voltage being pulled. ( this is due to the send back system). The module circumvents the brain and draws the extra volts directly from the battery, a 25 amp in line fuse is there to protect your trailer . Be very Careful having this wired "after market", it must be done correctly, many times the incorrect wiring job will work just fine until a short occurs (not at all that uncommon) , and then real trouble sets in. It took me weeks to find someone with experience on LR's, I also had to raise He** with the dealer to keep my Warranty intact. LR should be ashamed of not having the neccessary parts for this vehicle. Hope this helps. By the way I am located in the Tampa area if anyone needs info on this garage. C .W.Oakes

As a side note, I just took my DII in because of trailer wiring problems-I've got the factory wiring- and was told that LR is redesigning the system. The harness is currently on back order and is not expected to arrive for a couple of months.

Lets hope I don't get any tickets for pulling a trailer with inoperable lights in the meantime.
