where can I buy the black tubular rubber door seals for a '96 D1? Mine seem to be ripping and flaking in some spots. Any thoughts? |

I could be wrong but I think that stuff is fairly generic, they have a bunch of different sizes of it at auto parts stores and some special adhesive to secure it. |

Yon can get genuine one from roverconnection.com. Try them and let us know how much you paid and how easy(hard) it is to replace them. JK |

The problem with the door seals is that the gasket is glued to a brown trim piece. That is what holds it in place and makes it a Rover only part. You can carefully trim the rubber gasket off with a razor blade and glue on an aftermarket replacement without much trouble. It will look just fine. Rico cut the gasket off with a razor blade starting up about 4 inches from the bottom of the door and replaced it with something similar from a local auto parts store. The good news is that the replaced gasket does a much better job of keeping out water than the old one since the gap is now much higher up. Thanks, Mike B. |
