I may have the ability to buy a D2 rack. Will it work on a D1?

Thanks,
Todd

There was a discussion a while ago where people posted pictures of both a D1 rack on a DII and a DII rack on a D1. Do a search.

With yours the DII rack will overhang slightly at the back.

Go to the Home section, and look at the updated gallery of Tim Riccardi. He has a DI with a DII rack installed.

Yes, it is a little longer(6"?).
This question was asked already, do a search, there was some pic.

It works an looks OK- the mounting brackets come out to the extreme four corners of the D1 rain gutters.

Jay Caragay also has done it.

Todd,

I have a DI rack on my DII. I'll trade it to you for a DII rack. mine has a floor, front limb riser tabs and 3 extra tabs in the rear.

It always seems to work out that way, doesn't it? It is still in the air as to whether I can pick it up or not. If so, I know of a guy through my other interest (BMW 2002) that drives a truck and has offered to haul parts for me in the fast for free.

Just maybe...

Well, if you can figure a way to get them shipped.......... let me know. Maybe if he is coming from WA to PA, he could bring yours with him, help me change them out and take mine back home with him.

never know, but I'd be interested as I want a DII rack.....

Todd-

Like Bill said above, it will work but the gutter mounts will be at the four corners of your rain gutters. Doesn't seem to be a big problem though as far as weight is concerned. But the most I've strapped to the adventure rack is a 35lb boat, 5ga water jug and probably a 25lb bag up there at one time.

Fitting the D2 rack to the D1 is quite simple and easy to do - but make sure you have at least one more person to lend you a hand.
