Yeah, I told him to expect around 13 mpg...... and with the added weight of a 4.6, it may be worse. gp |

I just checked www.kbb.com and they don't seem to have the 2003 disco's listed yet. Am I missing something? |

Added weight of a 4.6? I didn't think it would be that much more weight over a 4.0. |

It may not be much. I guess I was thinking it wouldn't be aluminum, but maybe it is. |

It is 12/16, as opposed to 13/17 in 1999-2002 DIIs. |

If your boss is worried about the gas mileage on a 4.6 Disco,he shouldn't be buying one in the first place. With a 5-speed I get 10 mpg in city, 14 on highway and I usually drive like a bat out of hell. ---Norm |

Well, he hasn't bought one, he is just a car nut. I encourage it, because we take field trips to look at cars all the time. However, I don't think he is too worried about the price as he is the CEO and founder and sold our company to Zurich Insurance for some odd 42 million dollars. He just really loves cars. It gives me a way to relate to my CEO on a daily basis, so its good for me too. My company is called Mountbatten, or Zurich North American Mountbatten now, and it is named after lord Mountbatten, so LR goes over well with him. |

Hmm... if he likes cars and has all that cash maybe he would like to invest in a new company to build a Defender like replacement. I hear the military is looking at smaller options to the Hummer. |

Well, I find that usually it is just window shopping, although he brought in a 2003 Disco brochure today, so apparently he test drove one this weekend. However, to note, I believe our company is one of the largest single purchasers of Saabs in the US, but don't quote me on that. We currently have about 12 Saabs floating around and can get them at dealer cost somehow. However, we have had many come and go over the years with various employees. I just didn't want a Saab when it came time to get the Disco. |

if he has the cash, he should get the Range Rover... the new Disco has pretty lights (which aren't even zenon), but it only comes with two (ugly) interiors... Ford is beginning to take hold in the LR's... at least with the Range Rover he can cash in on the last that BMW had to offer. I was totally prepared to trade my 99 in for the 03, but figured I would wait a year till the Range Rovers were not selling for 10k over sticker. Your boss could also get a really good deal on a 2002. |
