********I know this topic has been beaten to and is well covered in the archives, but my internet connection sucks and is freezing up when I try to open it so please feel pitty and help me out******** Anyway, I just got some BFG 235/85-16 M/Ts they look great and hopfully I will get a chance to test them out this weekend, just to give me something to start from what psi are other owners of these tires running. I have an ARB and winch on the front if anyone thinks that makes a difference for the front preassure. Sorry guys I mounted them white letters out, hey I was born in Louisiana what do you expect. Thanks, Carter |

Carter, I have the GY MTR 235-85-16 on stock alloys, and I'm running at 30 in front and 36 in rear. Door say 28/46, but I like 30/36 better. Greg |

I have a set of 255 70 R16 BFG A/T's KO on stock alloys for my DII. There is no actual tire pressure range on the tires except maximum inflation to 60 psi. Should I follow the manufacturer for LR and do the front and back difference in pressure or is there a specific pressure that is good overall for highway until I go offroad? I have them all at 40 psi now. |

I've been wondering about my tire pressure as well. I dunno, I have the same tires as you christian .... For awhile, I tried them at the LR manual recommended 28 front, 38 rear. Then I thought, what the heck?? I mean, it doesn't look/feel right, why am I following something written in the generic manual for different stock tires? I'm putting a little more in ... maybe 33 front and 40, 43 rear. I just don't have a clue. (see what a big help this is? LOL). I normally haven't liked to air down too much offroad. If it's really rocky, I air down to 20 psi all around and all has been groovy. So far. As for sand, I've only been in certain areas of CA & NV desert sand (with rocks) that hasn't been too deep - I aired down to maybe 23 front, 26 - 28 rear. I've only been driving with these for a little over a year. Kim |

With factory Michelin 235/70x16 XM+S, book pressure is 26F, 34R here (Saudi) all normal conditions (ie, not soft going). Dealer recommends 28F,32R, which seems to work pretty well, if a little noisy(squealy) on the very hard bitumen we have here. I hope the earlier mention of 46 rear is a typo? GMC Yukons and Blazers run 40 all round on 15" tyres, but I would be surprised to see it on a disco. jp |
