I have a 95 Disco and have started getting the most irritating dash rattle. Seems to be coming from behind where the temp controls are. Sounds like a loose plastic duct. I have removed the glove box and access panel below it and can not find anything that is loose. Rattle starts with low engine revs, like when you put the truck in reverse and hold the brake down. It there a plastic cowl behind the dash or under the truck that could be loose. Hurry, I am running out of Advil. |

Stupid qustion, do you have a cassette sitting in your player, not pushed in? I was chasing a rattle in my dash once, and it dissapeared when I pulled the tape out. |

POS Rover radio was removed many moons ago in favor of an in dash cd with XM radio hook up. Rattle is a deeper sound than that, like plastic pvc duct work. I'm kinda hopin someone has an answer short of ripping the whole dash out or at least the center with the clock, temp controls etc. |

check your radio amp under you r/f seat.it sounds stupid but it is very common on that year and it will sound like it is coming from the dash.just tap on the amp or remove it and test it. Don |

I know it sounds strange, but don't forget to check things behind you, like the rear seats. Sometimes the bolts at the hinge point get loose and it sounds like the noise comes from the dash. TrevorH |

Radio amp was removed when I yanked the Rover radio (that's where the XM unit resides now) and the noise is coming from the dash (ever seen your wife butt up trying to hear a rattle from the floor, it's a beautiful sight!) Ever hear the sound an empty plastic bottle makes, that's the noise. How tough is it to remove the center section of the dash or does the whole dash have to come out? |

Rattle seems to be coming from behind the stationary tray above the ash tray (what is that tray for anyway?). Does that tray pull out like the clock does? |

The tray holds LITTLE cups. You have to remove the ashtray and the switch binnicle (sp?) flanking the tray on each side, to access the screws. -L |
