My service engine light came on about 4 days ago, I followed the instruction as posted in the Tech. section, but the light still remained on. I found the Emission Maintenance Reminder and push through the LR sticker, and nothing happens.I have a 96 Disco SE, any help will be greatly appreciative.

When you push a paper-clip or what have you through the little hole, you're essentially making a connection between two pins, letting the clip be a jumper to close the circuit. On several of these, the pins aren't lined up to allow the clip to hit both pins... what usually is needed then is to gently pry the box apart, then use something to jump between the two pins... it should go off then.

Good luck,

Can the box be unplugged from the red connector? Or, do I have to continue to bend in funny ways under the dash to make this light go off?

Brian,
I can't remember exactly, but I think I had disconnected the box at one point from the harness and I think it still worked. There is a batery on the inside that may be used to power memory storage.
