I'm thinking about getting a boat and, because I bought it used, don't have a manual. What do you guys with your Discos? The boat/trailer combos I was looking at are from 2150 lbs to 2400 lbs. Thanks |

Just finished towing a 2000 lb trailer with a Suzuki sidekick on it (at least 3000lbs) 3 hours on I-95 with a minimum speed of 50mph. Vehicle has a class 3 hitch and I believe it is rated at 7500 lbs. I think it also has hookups for electric brakes as well since I made a trailer harness and noticed two separate leads that were not indicators. Anything less than 4000 is a walk in the park but don't expect miracles up hills. |

I regularly tow an 18 ft. Sea Ray (approx. 2500 lbs. dry, about 3000 full) with my 95. As stated earlier, a walk in the park. In fact, if you keep your foot out of it and can withstand the dirty looks of other drivers, keeping it at or below 65 mph will get you around 15 -17 mpg. Be sure to burn premium fuel, the performance is much better on hot days especially when towing. The 3.9 does not have the guts that my lwb County did when pulling up a hill (cruise control speed will drop 5-10 mph depending on the grade), but all in all, still a very capable vehicle when towing. |
