I have a sneaking suspicion that this may be caused by my air conditioner. How do I alleviate this problem?

Thanks!

crawel under the truck with a flash light and a piece of coat hanger. Look up on the inside of the transmission tunnel and you will see two little rubber cones with slits in them. One on each side. Reach up and squeeze them and if water runs out all over you then your issue is fixed. If not then take the piece of coat hanger and push it up into the tube (rubber cone) and see if there is a clog in the tube. If not then I don't know what is causing your problem. I had water dripping on the floor also and it was due to a clog on the air con drain. You might have the same issue.

More likely than not you have a blocked AC condenser drain hose. I believe it's on the hump in the center on the Disco, and when blocked or damaged can leak the condensation into the foot wells. Do you notice this mainly after running the AC?

Would this also cause fog to shoot from my AC vents?? I haven't noticed any water on my floor, and there's usually a puddle of water under my truck after it's been parked awhile

Fog is pretty freaky, I feel like the Gorton's fisherman when I have the AC on... :)

I think the fog is an extra option..check your owners manual.:)

..and yes, that's what that puddle is from.

Regarding the fog, make sure to check both drains. I had the same problem. One side was clogged. When I cleaned the drain, the fog went away.

fog can also happen due to changing atmospheric conditions (humidity) and temporary micro-climate inside the disco

Thanks guys... I was about to buy a GPS so I could find my way around INSIDE my DI...

Mary B, sorry to steal your thread, but I think the two issues go hand in hand...

Thanks all,
Chuckster

Eric,

Thanks for the tip of the day!

For the last two weeks, My Disco was parked at Philly International and after landing today, my truck reaked really bad and the both forward floors were wet. Anyway, I Just crawled under and removed the mud from both inverted cones and WHAMMO, a river of water poured out of each side.

Just got through reading this thread, and was thinking the same thing that Paul put into words ... Great tip, Eric! I don't happen to have this problem currently, (uh, I'm knocking on my head right right now) but definitely, this is a great tidbit of info. Thanks! :)

Now, if only I wasn't so advanced in my senility, so that I could correctly recall this procedure if/when I need to. LOL, ... I'll never remember the title of this thread, so I guess I better print it out, and store it with the rest of threads like this that I think may come in handy ...

Yes Kim, if you drive through mud you may find that your nipples get dirty, thereby leading to puddles on the floor. Mary probably just needs to crawl under the truck and squeeze her nipples to solve her wetness problem. I drove through mud last week and, sure enough, my AC is back-draining onto the floor. I have to get under there and squeeze those 2 AC drain nipples.

here's a pic of one of my nipples (you know I got pics of everything):

LOL, Blue - Okay, now I'm blushing.

But seriously, thanks for the picture. I figured since we do drive through a lot of mud and dirt, it's a good thing to know.

Blue, One would think that if Mary were to play with her nipples under her truck it would cause a wetness problem.. :)

Really though guys, this has been a topic of discussion quite a few times..

ROTFLOL! This thread has truly gone to Hell in a hurry. Blue, you've got a great talent for B.S.-ing, and I mean that in the most flattering way. "A temporary micro-climate in the Disco"??? Not that I can argue, but that's some most excellent infomercial type speak! LOL!

Hey, good job Eric, but he's right in saying this has been discussed to death (no slam intended to Eric). *I* even knew this from Volvo ownership (and y'all know how limited I am in auto knowledge), from when my feet got completely soaked when my hubby made a right turn one day (I was the passenger). A friend of mine asked me the other day why her Chrysler had a wet floor on the passenger side, and I told her most likely the a/c was clogged. Presto-bingo, the shop confirmed yesterday. Made me feel like I KNEW something, LOL!

And now we resume nipple chat....

Karen :)

Wish I could join in the innuendo fun here but honestly I'm not that creative. I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago and checked my nipples (heh heh) but they were fine. Turns out I had a pinhole in the heater core (Stealership said it couldn't be that because they never go bad)

When I yanked out the dash to get to it and get it out, I filled it with water and food dye and about 30 seconds later the colored water was coming out from somewhere. That was what was making the fog in mine. Fixed it and no more problems. It was a serious pain in the butt and I recommend getting someone else to do it if you can afford it.

Blue,

My gal pal with the leaky Chrysler is a HUGE LOTR fan. She'd appreciate your hobbit feet for their art, if nothing else. She's pretty feisty, too, you might get some action out of her, who knows? LOL!

Karen :)

The fog escaping from the vents is usually escaping airconditioning gas. it can be be coursed by pressure build up in the system and it escapes from a week point such a a connection point.

Blue,

Here's is a verbatim quote from her today:

I tried to post this to Blue, but it wouldn't let me. Would you please post it for me? Thanks.

Blue, You're on, man. Can I touch your furry feet?? I just want to say that y'all were right...the air conditioning condenser drain hose was split. Thanks for the information. My Chrysler doesn't have any nipples, but it has humungous ball bearings. Pal-o-Karen

---end quote----

My best advice? Watch what you wish for, this one's got stories you wouldn't believe, and yours could be added to the list! LOL!

Karen, :) on a few fronts! Heehee!

Thanks Blue, my wife happened to look over my shoulder and read your thread and now she thinks I spend my time in sex chat rooms! Just kidding.

Not to contradict everyone but also keep in mind that a leaky heater core can cause puddles on the floor too. There will usually be a distinct odor if it's coolant tho. And the fog is caused when the conditions in your ac system are just right and it's very humid.

Cool tip people. I've had water dripping into the passenger footwell usually after the AC has been running. This was sometimes accompanied by fog also. I thought I had an AC gas leak but the points made above seem to make sense. The fog was not gas like but was more like humid air.
I'll check out my nipples also (ohhh errr).

Thanks again

if you take a plier you can pull them both (nippels) out off the drain hose so it will never glog up again there only hold in place by a littel rim
if you acces the top end off the drainhose on the inside there located where the dash meets the tunnel you can blow them clear with a airgun wich if there glogged up wil aso blow out the nippel at the same time
did this on my truck and the water and fog are gone now for weeks
