to me it looks like the mounting shaft is is about 1/4" shorter than a stock shock and the bushings are thicker, leaving no space to get the nut on. am I crazy?

also, why don't they supply new washers and nut for the upper mount?

Yeah, I had the same problem...the Bilsteins were missing bushings and had some that were just plain wrong. Still sealed up in the plastic bag, so it wasn't like they fell out somewhere. The vendor (I forget where I bought 'em) made good by sending some more. Curiously, these also fit the shocks on *series* Rovers! I've got plenty now, but re-used the originals 'til the replacements were mailed.

Anyway, the dished washers face *away* from the bushing. These shouldn't 'cup' or surround the bushing they touch.

SG, yeah I put the washers facing away. I actually got 5 bags of hardware for 4 shocks, but was still shorted the two upper bushings! of course now my truck sits all apart while I wait for parts (my only car).

derek, in the meantime, just throw back on the stock shocks . . . or can you reuse some of the old bushings to make do for now?

This pic of three rear shocks shows how the bushings are set.
