Does anyone run 235/85xR16 tires. I'm thinking about putting some on and would like to get some opinions before dropping the cash. Will they make the D1 lose much power and speed? I do have an OME lift and I am willing tpo make a few trimming mods. Would I be putting to much stess on the stock Diffs ? Any advice would be great. Thanks Rico |

Palomino, just fitted my Disco with 235/85/16's less than a week ago. No trimming necessary but did push out the rear fenders a bit to keep them from rubbing. If you already have the OME lift then you are good to go. I went with Futura Enforcer M/T's from Pep Boys, 40k warranty. I got all 5 (including spare) mounted, balanced, and road hazard for $550.00. Power loss seems to be minimal, on the road other than being louder the tires are balanced 100X better than my stock Michelins which I had balanced and rotated every 5k or so. Gas mileage dropped a couple mpg but nothing serious. |

Stock wheels man, but am currently looking for some Series wheels or old RRC wheels. I'll have some pics added to my gallery maybe after this weekend. Peace.. RS |

Rico, I'm also running 235/85/16s on my Disco (Goodyear MT-Rs). There is a bit of a power loss over stock, but IMHO it's not too bad. With regards to stress on the diffs, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Defenders run the same axles as Discos and they come stock with 265/75/16s, a bigger/heavier tire than the 235/85s.
