I am looking at getting a rovertym or safarigard bumper. Is one better than the other. Please tell me all you can. |

Rovertym is better. Only downside is you are limited to planetary winches. The ends of the SG bumper can bend/flex. Rovertym does not bend SG does look cooler though Ron |

I thought RTE was making a bumper to fit the RE12000, I might be wrong though?? Matt |

RTE bumper is far Stonger. As for looks that's a matter of opinion. IF you do not care for the A-bar just buy the blade unpainted and have a brush guard custom bent at a local fab shop. The difference is the RTE bumper does not depend on the brush guard for its strenght. The $G would not last long without it's brush bar in hard use. I've seem/touched/witnessed both on same trail tests. GO RTE you will not be disappionted! |

I'm pretty sure RTE bumpers are available w/ regular brush guard or A-bar "baha" style for the same price. The only real difference is between their standard blade and slim-line blade. I've been looking into the many bumper options for a while and am pretty well sold on the RTE, although I'm probably still 8-12 months away from one. My only complaint is that I really like the looks of the A-bar but do not believe you can attach effective limb risers to it. Since most of my wheeling is in heavy woods that's probably going to push me to get the more common brush bar look. L_Tilly [email protected] 96 Disco "Beowulf" NH, USA |

I don't know anything about metal fabrication, so I don't understand how a bumper (any bumper) becomes reliant on brush bars for strength. Just curious since I am in the mkt for a bumper. MH |

The brush bar is a giant Gusset and it makes any bumper stronger. Dont let them confuse you... Kyle |

Personally speaking, I really like the RTE. I've had one for a few months now and it's been a great performer. One minor problem was the early models had a gloss finish that tends to crack. Newer models have a different finish that holds up much better. I'll probably be getting rid of my current RTE bumper in favor of something more custom to my specs in the coming months. But you can bet that I will stick with RTE. |

I've got a rovertym slimline blade on a 97D1, I ordered it without the skid plate or the brush guards, I did a test with my hilift and the very end of the bumper all the way around at the front tire and lifted the front wheel, I'm impressed at the fact that there was only 1/8" of flex that far from the frame mounts! I dont know if SG bumper is this stout, But i do like the rovertym product!! |
