I am currently taking apart my center console in order to free up the dif-lock and I could use some help.. The console is removed, and there are rivets securing the t-case lever boot.. Should I drill those rivets out? Is there a better way?? If I drill them out, what is the best way to re-secure the boot, Screws?? Thanks for your help, JMcD |

My friend just did this. He had to drill them out and use screws for replacement. Seemed to be the only way. Tom |

Screw the screws! Put rivets back in. You can get a rivet gun for $15 or so. |

I just did it. $9.95 at ACE for a riveter and rivets are cheap and easy to put in. Just use a shop vac while you drill to control where the chips land. 3/16 drill and rivets. I didn't think there was enough surface area to use screws since this is an area that needs to be sealed when under water. And who needs another area for water to leak in? Cal |
