While wheelin' today I managed to pull the vibration weight off my front diff. Obviously it went undetected until I reached about 75mph on the drive home. I've noticed quite a few people removing this weight while relocating their steering stab. or when boxing their track rod. Is there a way to reduce the vibration at the font end with leaving this weight off. I'm assuming that with a lift and this weight removed the vibration would increase. would c/v-joint drive shafts help? or should i just replace the weight? |

Are you sure you didn't bend or break something else? Driveshaft unscathed? |

paul, everything else good, if driveshaft was damaged the vib. would be more constant. This is definately a harmonic vib at the front axle noticable between 73 and 77 mph. |

I know of many who have removed the harmonic dampener from the front axle with no negative effects. And some who advocate removing it before it gets ripped off off-road. |
