Ok, so the question from last week has been answered....it's a bad solenoid. Next question is what's up with the "Albright Solenoids" offered by some suppliers and apparently used on the Camel Trophy vehicles in conjunction with the Husky winches. If the "normal" solenoids have proved satisfactory for everyone, I'll save a handful 'o cash and stick with them. But if anyone has had more than satisfactory experience with the Albright's, I'll have to give them another look. |

The solonoids that come with the winch you have are pretty crappy. Although. I am not sure that the ones they use on the Husky are really any better. Warn has a nice Solonoid setup but its a bit too complicated I feel. You arent bound to those solonoids man. Do some searching and you will find oodles of alternatives for less money... Kyle |

the best selonoids I have found are 100% duty cycle golf cart selonoid. you can get them at any Napa and they are truley 100% duty cycle. they also work great to run large amounts of lights or any other high amp draw device. the best way to wire them is to run a connector to the a (A)switch terminal from the large powered terminal. then run the (B) terminal to a switch(winch button) to ground. by grounding instead of powering the selonoid switch the selonoid will last way longer. |
