I rewired my Hella 4000s to use a "factory" fog light switch. The Hella wiring harness had two female connectors that attached to a round switch. I re-wired as follows; Pin #1-connected to one of the female connectors from the Hella harness. Pin #2-i tapped pin #2 from the fog switch next to it. Pin #3-empty Pin #4-connected to the other female connector from the Hella harness. Pin #5.grounded. Problems: Switch is back-lit constantly. Green "on" light is on constantly. How can I correct these problems. I only want it back-lit when the interior lights are on. I only want the "on" switch on when the lights are on. Thanks. |

I don't know exatcly what each of your numbers coinside with but I would suspect that the wire you "tapped" from is backflowing 12v or ground back to the swithch. sounds like you need a diode. A diode will allow the flow of electricity in only one direction. You have to put them in DIRECTIONAL one way blocks pos. the othe blocks ground it will be black with a with stripe on one end, Ken |

The numbers refer to the pins on the back of a LR factory foglight switch. |

I've looked for the write up be was unable to find it. If anyone has wired their Hellas to a factory switch, can you please explain the process? |

Eric, If you have a link to the PDF, could you provide it? If not, is it something you could email to the DWeb powers-that-be to be posted in the Tech section? Lawrence [email protected] 96 Disco "Beowulf" NH, USA |

I can email it to you as well but it can be found in the 'tech' section under 'lighting'. |
