Hi there,

I am looking for some feedback about the TJM roofrack pictured below.

1,roof

Here in New Caledonia, there is an outlet for ARB and one for TJM.

I don't like much the look of the ARB, and the TJM here has a design that follows the roof of the disco, which I like.

I would love to get and adventure rack like a lot of you guyz, but the LR dealer ask me USD 4600 to get one !!! can you believe this !!!

Back to my question : anyone using or having seen a TJM roofrack in use ?

How about it ?

Is it well made ?

Is it heavy ?

Any feedback welcome.

Best regards.

I have one of the racks. Had it for 2.5 years with no problems. I have done a lot of rutted outback AUS roads with no cracks or wear. The load carrying bars for the channel between the upright supports spread the load very well. The rack is rated to 160KG. In AUS you can get the same rack in steel or Alloy. Mine is alloy as it is much lighter (my wife and I can fit and remove easily). Any more specific questions, just ask.

John,

thank you very much for your feedback.

We are nearly neighbours :)

I know it exists in aluminium and I wanted this version badly... but the TJM outlet in New Caledonia asked TJM australia who answered that this product was no longer available.

Moreover, they only have one steel model available in stock. Too bad !

It is a shame they stopped producing the one you have... lucky you :)

Thank you again.

Erik

If I were you (and you really wanted alloy) I would make a call direct to AUS because I had a mate buy a new one just 4 weeks ago. They are made in/around brisbane.

I don't know if they carry TJM roof racks, but I got great service from www.4wdwarehouse.com.au who sent me TJM DSII bull bar before they were available in the USA.

I rang TJM's factory today and the do not make the rack any more and have no more in stock. I am going to look for a second hand one. I believe they are the best looking on on the market however at $1400AUS no wonder the couldn't sell them
