I just got my OME HD suspension in for my D1 and I got 235/85 Radial Rover R/Ts as well. My question is, i work at a body shop and the guy that's gunna help me switch it all out thinks i'd need new bump stops to stop the tire from jamming into the top of the fender well. He doesn't know a lot about rovers, it's just his guess, but are new bump stops needed to prevent this from occurring or for any other reason, or will i be just fine switching out the suspension.
Thanks,
Brad

I don't think your tires are tall enough to warrant lowering your bump stops. Are you still using factory wheels? If not, the offset may cause contact with the fender lip, but again, you really don't have any worries because of the height of your tires.

You should be so lucky to have that much articulation! If you don't disconnect your swaybars, there is virtually no chance of it happening.

FWIW-I have the RTE springs with BFG 235/85-16s and that is the least of my worries.

You could always do the forktruck trick to prove to yourself. Make sure you tell Kyle and Ho about your experience with the forktruck! One of them will comment!

••••••! Just for you Kyle.

Peace,
Paul

haha,
Well i do plan on disconnecting the swaybars off road, so will it be a problem that I need to worry about then or not? I'm gunna do the forklift for sure, and I'll snap some pics while i'm at it.

Brad, I'm running 285's, no sways, and I've modified my bushings. I get tons of travel and still haven't needed to lower my bumpstops. I really don't think you have anythong to worry about.
