I need to disconnect my battery in order to clean the contacts. Will this screw up all my computers etc.?

If you have a D1 you will need to reset your radio with the code for it and you will need to reset your clock. I just changed my battery out last night and that was all I needed to do. Don't know about a D2 though.

In our D1 when I disconnected the battery, the siren, with its own internal battery, went off. Needless to say I neede to change my underwear I got such a fright!!
Be aware that this could happen.

I have disconnected the battery in our DII with no problems except reseting the radio.

Just wondering Streak but, why do you even have a Land Rover still? You would think that with all the issues that you have (according to the website) that you would have gotten rid of the thing a long time ago. Why do you keep them?

Eric,
Cars here cost more than a house. We got our first Disco in 1995 and due to severe build quality issues and failures, the Disco has been replaced twice by LR each time with a part payment from us. We have inherited the vehicle we are now in rather than choosing it.
Trade in values are dismal and it is very expensive to just get rid of the car and buy another.
So far all of the problems have been covered under warrantee, when it expires we will have to start making some decisions.

My D2 only needed to reset the climate control back to Fahrenheit from reading in Celsius. And the clock. The radio only needed bass and fader reset.
