I just got a great deal on a factory brush bar for my Disco II but there are no installation instructions.

While I am waiting for delivery, can anyone tell me if I will need to cut the bumper to accomodate the mounting brackets, and if so, if you have the instructions to do so? Any photos would also help.

I thought this would be a simple bolt-on job but now realize that there is no direct opening to the frame????

Appreciate the help.

Cheers,

CARL

It is not as easy as you think (without the instructions). Check your e-mail, a have a copy of the Landrover instruction book...Dave

Hey Guys, I can't fax the whole world the 11 pages of instructions. My phone bill would be huge. If someone can put them up onto this or another web site, I will fax them one more time so everybody can download them. If you have a Phoenix area code, I will fax them over, just e-mail me a LOCAL phone number....Sorry....Dave

just went through this a while back.

1. Pull off the bumper (probably might be albel to cut one without pulling it off)and cut a hole where the brush bar extends out from the bumper. You don't need a big one but you need extra room for your wrench

2. The problem i ran into was my brush bar didn't come with mounting brackets - you will have to buy them from the dealer if they didn't ship - cost me $50. These attach to the frame - you will have to remove the recovery hitch. You can now attach the brush bar to the extensions on the bracket.

If i had known what I was doing the whole job would have taken no more than about 4hrs but I spent alot of time trying to figure out why the bar would attach like the DIs do. Good luck.
