I went through the archives and read the tech page on the trailer wiring harness but I'm still a little unsure on a couple of things. My Disco has read jump seats. How do I get to the area with the trailer wiring? Do I have to remove a jump seat and which side is it on (passenger or driver). Left and right confuses me I need to hook up a 4 pole trailer connector (the flat ones with three male and one female (or is it the other way around?). Is this easy to do and do I still need the Uhaul trailer wiring harness? Thanks in advance, Santo '98 Disco I LSE |

Remove the passenger side jump seat, then remove the access pannel. If you are looking at the seat the access pannel would be on the right side (ie. back door side of vehicle). There should be a dime-sized plastic cover that pops open (be gentle, I snapped mine completely off). Remove the screw behind the cover then pull the pannel and you'll find your wiring harness inside. I'd go with the Uhaul part just to be safe (follow the tech outline). When I bought my trailer harness (used), it had the uhaul adapter on it, so I won't be able to give you any further details on the adapter hookup. |
